Shakedown to open was unreal. This set sparkled from beginning to end. I have seen on setlists that Shakedown segued into Playin. this is not true. This is a definite break between the songs. Playing was nice. Great to hear phil droppin' the bombs everywhere. Decent jam in Playin. Ramble On was nice, but Bruce could have put a little more emotion into his singing. Down the Road Again was a first for me. Good tune and a nice change of pace with Mickey on vocals. Half Step was much improved from Buffalo. Great solos and Phil really handled the vocals well this time. Next there were some more Playin hints and then it was Baby Blue. Bobby always does well with Dylan songs, and this was no exception. It was a good breather before the jam comes. Sailor>Saint was nice. I really noticed that there was something lacking during the songs themselves, but the jam that came out of Saint was some of the best I've ever heard. The whole band was jamming HARD and was very in tune with each other. Karan and Kimock were trading leads for a while and then the whole band just keptbuilding the intensity highr and higher. This is waht I come to shows to see. My jaw was bouncing offthe ground as I was grooving. Cassidy was great. This song is a perfect example of how much the sax adds to the band. Another amazing jam came out of Cassidy which finally gave way to the drummers. Mickey and Molo mesh so well together. A very intense tribal drums. After the drummers left, the rest of the band came out for space. I really wasn't impressed at all with this space. It went absolutely no where until Bruce picked up the ball. Bruce's solo included 'Somehwere over the Rainbow'. His playing was trandescent and uplifting. The next choice was The Way It Is. Great song to get you moving and smiling again. I didn't recognize the new Uncle John's arrangement for a while. I really like the Carribean feel of this tune. The jam in between verses were all there. An expected Playin Reprise was next. Not a whole lot to say about this except that it brought the past two hours full circle. The lights went down and the opening chords of Sugar Mags shined through. It was time to boogy for allyou were worth. Other than Morning Dew, I think this is the best way to end a show. Everyone was up and dancing and the band was delivering. US Blues was the encore. Nice to hear, but nothing to write home to Ma' about. This is one tune thta Phil's vocals do not work for. He really needs to put some life into this song. My final comments are if you haven't seen a show yet go. This is a very special thing happening this summer. I have been very impressed with Karan and Kimock. Great choices for the band. On this particular night Mark Karan really shined. He showed why he was chosen first for the guitarist spot. He brings a very fluid and wide open style to the band and I take my hat off to him. He was very impressive. Kimock had his shining moments but was laid back for most of the night. He really rounds out the band well. Great show, great crowd, and the after show lot scene was wonderful

Great show! Bobby singing Shakedown ruled! Sailor>Saint, UJB, Sugar Mags all rocked! Hornsby played "Somewhere over the Rainbow" out of Space! The Scene was great and the band might have been having more fun than we were.

WOW ... though I miss the captain, the sound quality and the performance were beyond my wildest expectations - sonically speaking, it was (here comes the blasphemy), better than I can ever remember at any previous show ... Opening with Shakedown was a groovy start to a show that was a blast from beginning to end. Hearing these tunes played with little slack was most refreshing ... My hat is off to the boys for bringing John Molo on board - let's face it - Mickey needs someone who can keep up with him! The crowd was as "well behaved", and the scene was very cool ... I can't wait for the fall tour ... Could we get these guys to play at WVU (a return trip for the "original ones")?????
