I had not been able to bring myself to see either of the prior Furthur tours, Rat Dog shows, etc. since seeing the final Box of Rain at Jerry's last show. It's easy to be critical, but the bottom line is it was a great show. Sorry all you Phish-heads and Widespread fans, this is still the real thing. I found myself laughing out loud throughout the show. The bottom provided by Mickey, Molo and Phil was wide and deep, keeping me cooking throughout. I hope they're having fun, because I WANT MORE!!!!

I just got back from Denver and I am still glowing even after a 19 hour bus ride. I never saw the Fat Man, I was watching my friend's house while they went to his last show. I deeply regret it, but I finally feel whole. For about 3 years now i have been listening to the Dead every day, all day. I felt heavy because I thought i would never have the wonderful experience that most of you had. I wanted to see everyone, and go to the shakedown, and feel the vibe. I went to Ratdog in march,, and It made me smile that the music was still being played. It was good to see Bobby, and I had a grate time but it didn't fill that void. Ya know what I mean? But the show I went to this past sunday did it for me. I know that a lot of people have a negative opinion of fiddlers green and it's "inept" staff, but I saw nothing but a lot of love and smiles. this is something that i've been anticipating for a long time. I loved everything about the scene. the waiting in line was hot but enjoyable. the vendors. the people I talked with were so nice and excited as me. I actually got goose bumps walking into the amplitheater. Never had I been to a bigger party. If you smiled at me sunday, or said hi or sold me those kind brownies, thank you. I settled in, found a patch of grass to share with my wife and grooved to Root. Gave some fungi to some people behind me, they passed a j and watched our stuff while we wandered. It was something like I've never experienced. Caught the first half of tuna and went to the dead.net booth. then the boys came on. I got back to my seat as watchtower started. Wow. Scarlet was amazing, mickey's fire was cool. He seems to have it together. The sun was setting over the rockies and there was this storm coming towards us. Lighting spurred us to cheer and we knew that Jerry asked the Gods to provide something special to look at. They did. it looked like fire on the mountain. It was so electric. and they were tight. I enjoyed minglewood, and down the road brought a tear to my eye. Liked the hornsby tune and the birdsong was nice. Samson brought the building down. Good chemistry during Drumz, liked the effects. Space was refreshing and a nice compliment to the mushrooms. Banyan tree was a nice new song. they brought back playin and during wharf rat, you could hear a pin drop. i never have been around that many people being that quiet. I liked the throwin stones and of course NFA made me lose my voice, but I didn't care. The ripple was sweet. I liked how Bobby lead them and Phil's voice was nice. It's never ending. Death is a part of life. When Pig died, it went on. Keith, Brent, and of course Jerry. It's going furthur now. Jer was there, and he was smiling all the way. for all of you who are griping about the venues, and the lack of courtesy from the staff, chew on this: if you get confused, listen to music play. Consider yourself priveleged you got to hear Jer go off. I was just happy to see these songs live, to feel the scene and share the excitement and officially become a part of the family. I didn't care about the staff, It was the furthest thing from my mind. i hope that each of you catch a show, if you already haven't. for a first show, i must say i am impressed. thanks for the wonderful time guys. If anyone has a tape and is willing to spin me a copy of my first show, email me privately it would mean a lot. I will send postage, tape, everything needed. Once again Thank you.

I was at this show, had 9 hippies in the van at this point in the ride. We made the best of the lot. One big party. Got in line, remember waiting a while to get in. We walked right in like we owned the place. Walked down the lawn to the seating area, walked up to front row . Does anyone remember seeing Jer in the clouds during the rolling storm, during Down the Road. very spiritual like previous post. I'd say best show of my tour, which included, alpine, tinley, deer creek, st. louis, colorado, vegas ,and the two shorelines. Jer was there that day, giving approval
