I was at the show tonight. Previously was at 2 Furthur shows in Asbury Park and have been following this band intensely since they formed late last year so I kind of new what to expect, at least that is what I thought until the 2nd set tonight!
The first set was good, solid Golden Road, and a fun Gloria with Bobby doin’ a baseball rap in the middle of G.L.O.R.I.A. Highlights for me were a rollicking Ramble on Rose sing a long and a Furthur first time Black Peter.
The 2nd set seemed doomed from the start, JK’s amp seemed to not want to come back from the break, and Bobby’s attempt to keep the audience entertained with his duck joke was a valiant try until he screwed up the punch line. But then, then they transferred that energy into one of the best sets of music I have ever heard. Check out the set list, and then imagine all those played with energy I have not seen in any of the post dead line-ups. Fabulous, if you get a chance go check these guys out.

well, i hadnt seen any of the boys since darien, scanton, camdem in 2oo4. they totaly are on piont, and giving us the heart and sole we know and love. terrapin was great, eyes was my favorite and my girls delight. ramble on with the crowd in it was hopefully as nice for the band as was for us. all i can say is thank you guys. and for the jc haters i thought he did a fantastic job. if hes so bad, hell get up there and show him how its done. hes no brent,r.i.p. brother, but complimented the band nicely.

This show had a bit of everything, Lets start with Golden Road into Gloria NICE!!!. What a nice way to pick up the crowd tho get the show rockin, Ramble on Rose.. Amazing!!! going into a smokin Black Peter, NICE!!!!!!
2nd set. we recieved a comedy show from Bobby, and some smart ass comments aimed at john (too Funny) Bobby messes up the punch line too his joke (kinda like he forgets the lyrycs lol... ). Phil.... He was having such a good time last night . Bertha, Row Jimmy into Reuben and Cherise( gotta luv it). TY john for wonderful version Reuben. The Row Jimmy, Phil played is little heart out, Eyes he blew it up. John and bobby with the Terrapin ( nicely done) always nice to hear Touch> Wheel. What a great ending to a show with beautifully done Brokedown. Jay and Joe where just playing off of each others vibes/reading each other. Jeff what can I say but another amazing show. The girls put out some beautiful sounds. Put it all together and WOW another outstanding show

Ben seeing the Dead, et. al since '78 and was, again, amazed. Phil & Bobby were having a great show full of a nice set list, energy & vocals. John is the right addition for Jerry-esk vocals plus it was fun to see him learning, on stage, from the master bass of Phil (what a funky bass he had!). Can't forget Stabler - my first time there but what a great sounding & cozy venue!!! Just tell the cops & gate next time that it is a Dead crowd - Ease Up! I will definitely catch more shows this year!

My wife and I spent her birthday weekend (2/14!) driving from NJ to Hampton, Fairfax, and Ithaca. Even though we were wiped out after Barton Hall (42 will do that to you), as we were driving home, we started toying with the idea of swinging past Lehigh and seeing if we could round out (or square) the 4-day stretch with our heroes. We drove into snow, and after twisting and turning through Bethlehem, found the venue. However, seeing people with their fingers up in falling snow at 7:15 pm made it seem unlikely we would stumble across 2 tickets, even with potential good karma from passing extras along at Hampton and Ithaca. Plus it looked like getting out of the parking lot and home would be an ordeal with the snow. So we opted to play it safe (again, 42), waved goodbye, and went home. Glad we didn't miss anything too out of this world, but would probably have been fun to see Golden Road, Gloria, Black Peter #1, Reuben & Cerise, and after all that driving, The Wheel (little bit Furthur...). Surprised (but secretly relieved) they didn't pull out Cold Rain and Birdsong. Hope it was fun for everyone inside, and an easy exit from the parking lot! Back to 'reality' for me today, but no matter: Phil-side orchestra seats await for Radio City next week, with a "Fela!" Broadway matinee sandwiched in between!

All I'm saying and confirming is that the first set was literally KICKED off with Golden Road, EXPLOSIVE, after Phil and Bobby stood at ready for JK to count off and set the night in cruise. If I had missed this show knowing how good it was, especially the second set (the jam out of Reuben & Cherise was out of this world), I would be extremely painful.
As for a review I read about a past show, the female vocalists were so into the music that they were almost part of the show. The grooved and danced to Jeffs keyboard mastery in Eyes and were giving him high fives from across the stage. I don't think I've EVER heard him rip like he did tonight. Well in conclusion I would recommend anyone who ever liked the grateful dead to come see these guys. John you bring such an energy to the stage and everything in a 6000 person radius. Thank you for a real good time!

What more can b said that wasnt said already, these guys were havn fun all night long. All Phil could do all nite was smile smile smile. Golden Road rocked, as well as eyes, the wheel, ruebin n cherise, gloria, and an explosive passenger. Bobby's joke floppd but thats what makes Bobby , i rarely ever hear him talk at Ratdog shows let alone crackn jokes, lmfao all nite, danced all nite as well. Its a good show when ur legs hurt the next day! Ive seen all the lineups since Jerry passed and this is by far the best yet, maybe Donna next tour? That would complete it all!

Maybe some just didn't get the joke. I did and I know someone who thought it was so funny they fell out of the air. Still lmao.

Agree with the positive reviews, was even better than the Asbury show I caught in December. For me, this band is the highpoint in the fifteen years since Jerry Garcia passed on. Love RatDog, the Dead, etc., but this band to me sounds just about perfect. A couple technical problems, but musically amazing. The setlist, particularly in the first, wasn't my dream list(other than the Eyes>Terrapin), but they played that good. Wish Phil would finally stop taking the lead vocal on Eyes(one of my fav Dead songs) and let Bobby have it, but his singing was better than usual on this. Highlight was definitely the stretch of Reuben thru Touch. Ramble on Rose, Peter, and Passenger stood out in the first. Definitely give this show a listen!!

Interesting Show….. The biggest thing that comes to mind was from the word go… JK had tech issues… He rose up from them and played well…. The Scene itself continues to surprise me.. The crowd has changed allot.. I’m sure most are people are from years ago, reminiscing. What’s interesting is the common bond of the Tour Kidz (jerry’s kidz) and the local dead heads seems gone… deadheads don’t support deadheads anymore… I relies times are tough… I didn’t even see any spare change people… And they annoyed me more than anyone in the scene.. But I now relies I was glad they were there…Not any more.. No Worries plenty of Wigger Mafia Nitrous people… If you want to come see some sick psycadelic 2010 Dead Furthur music and then spend what little money left on nitrous.. Most of THOSE people don’t go in the show… Enough of my rant on the Scene… The WHEEL was so good tonight my brain was in deep thought and recognition… This Band is GOOD.. EVEN with issues they pull through and are on point.. The songs apply to the scene… The scene needs to reflect the songs….
PS.. Eyes what sick.. Anyone that’s got issues with JC should listen to it from tonight… JERRY WOULD BE SO PROUD.. And I think surprised

I should of known it was gonna get strange when I pulled up to see people selling balloons. Then a dreaded balloon salesman came walking by kicking a glass bottle. Then while waiting in line for my full cavity search,I missed half of 1st set.thank god for phil and bobby's one liners and a great joke from bobby.phil was great as always. For me I never find my space, but lots of great venues still to come.

i dont know wot to say ,i was really psched by the furthur shows i heard and i really was excited to go and see...hmmmm,i dont wanna be a downer because i really did enjoy show.i have sean the dead over 100 times from about 1980 on to now,the one thing i gotta say is ive never been at a more laidback show ,the high points werent so high and low points werent so low,i really had liked wot i heard of john on recordings but live you can see he has a way to go,phil looked great bobby looked ill, security was crazy at the door.these young guys in band should push bob and phil more this band needs energy but jeez pasenger was great eyes was mostly great brokedown palace was perfect, idont know maybe i was expectin to much,..........i miss jerry!!!! damn.

The first set starts off strong with the first three songs. The Ramble on Rose is above average. The Ryan Adam's songs are ok as they usually slow the show down. The passenger is hot.
The second set is really a first set until the Eyes. The show gets better with the Eyes>Terrapin>Wheel>Touch. I'd say a below average show when compared to some of the others that were played up to this date.
The Rankings:
1) Hampton
2) Farifax
3) Atlanta
4) Miami
5) Orlando
6) Cornell
7) Asheville
8) Bethlehem, PA
9) Charlotte

What up CG, This show is hot and definitely deserves a higher rating than #8. I was at Miami and Orlando and loved every second of those shows but this one has that great vibe that you can only get at a place like a University and from a true and blue dead crowd. Love it and would rank it up there in the top 5. Keep it cranking boys and girls and loving that we'll be seeing this band this summer.
