Great Show unusual opening with NFA.. but for the most part very good. Bob was on it and Jeff was jammin' on the keys all night like he usually does. A lot of classics played in the first set.

Second set pretty jammy, Lost Sailor opener was pretty killer, as well as the Let It Grow @ the end > NFA closer!

by the way Did anyone catch what song Bobby played right before they went into Dark Star middle of this set??

Good Encore: Knockin' on Heavens Door

Dan, Chicago
I believe the song was "Caution" I thought the show was kinda rocky too, seemed like quite a few technical probs

JS, CT
From where I'm sitting in SF, I would give my LEFT NUT to see a show like the one they played tonight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!! Am I right people????? I only hope that they saved a good squirt for Chicago and Denver! Hopefully, they don't blow the whole wad back east. I have faith, though. I think that Chicago and Denver will be the most amazing shows ever!!! JK IS THE MAN!!!!! I can't wait for the western shows!! This band is THE SHIT, man!! Even Jerry is dancing along with this one. But yes, JS, I'm sure there were a couple of technical problems. It wouldn't be a true show without 'em!!!! ROCK ON FURTHUR!!!!!!!

Magical night ? Was that live or memorex ? Who cares , I had one f'in great time. The 'knocking was incredibly sweet ! Felt like I was back in MSG in the 80's. To make matters worse , got attached (unintentionally) to the back of the tour bus for what seemed to be an hour or so leaving Amherst. Danm.... Reminded me of when we somehow kept running into "that" bus after the July 4 , 87 show with Dylan. Can't believe I "it" again.... Hope you guys in the band are loving this as much as we do. Somehow I just know we ALL just enjoying THIS ride !!!

It looks like friday night is Darkstar night...Hampton/Amherst. Can't wait to listen...I love those the second sets with no fluff.

CG, Wisconsin
unbelievable... those guys put it all out there on friday night. the jam sequence actually went from other one> let it grow, without any pause in between, if my mind remembers correctly.
the jams on cassidy and let it grow would have to be the strongest, dark star was fantastic, and everything was pretty flawless... just exactly perfect dead show in 2010

Charlie, Northampton
Man, what a set list. Immense gratitude to the Tapers, can't wait to hear this show on Archives.

Dry Creek Mark, Foot of the Mtn
EXCELLENT show. Brought a few friends who hadn't seen anything like the Dead before....haha, they couldn't fully appreciate Dark Star (or most of the 2nd set for that matter) but I sure did! First set kept it cookin good (and at the least they were really diggin that), and the jam on Cassidy almost snuck in, next thing you knew it you were in full blown jam mode, and right as you realized it they started bringin it back again...I think it was the highlight for me.

Man, Jay Lane really is a character...one second it looks like he's not sure what he wants to hit, stumbling around from side to side...next minute he's jumping up at the drums, crashing down on them. I loved watching (or was I imagining) the games Lane and Russo would play with each other...pushing each other back and forth and furthur.

Its funny....Bob will hold his hand up to warn everyone for a change, and its like everyone looks away when they know its coming. The new guys are so on top of it, they don't need Bob telling them when its gonna happen. Great collection of musicians, so glad they're able to put it all together and play like a BAND

The path of the Golden Road this tour has led me to the river shore, where the wake of the flood, of a 15 year mourn, washed over me during an unfamiliar song from JK.......Alas, a most pignant Adams' original, where an epiphany occurred ~ I could stand inside the rain once again...................

Thus, the Wheel leads one back to where the desert wind moans with the riddle of the Sphinx........Under a brand new cresecent moon*

Eternally Grateful, to feel the sun sparkle and sense the overflowing work and love of these amazing magical Warlocks.....Will continue to live for the day to hear the Thunder shout once again ~ Hoping to Touch the Universe through the Force.........................

HooterAll, Watchtower
Last nights show soothed our soul...oh and the 2nd set blew the top of our heads off. This lineup is crazy good. In place for Utica.... Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!

Michelle, Chazy, NY
WOW!!!This show was an absolute blast. The band couldn't get any better than it was last night. I have been listening to the Dead for 40+ years and I seem to favor the early and late 70"s and this group is just like the good ole
Grateful Dead. And by the way, those who have been hating on Jeff, need to shake themselves,He was cookin'.Casey Jones tore the house down at the break, and Althea,NSB,Let it Grow were exceptional, and Knockin' on Heaven's Door, which I was hoping for, was a knockout. If you have any thoughts of seeing these guys, don't snooze. I hope I'm lucky enough to see them again. Thank you for a real good time....

"Come for Set 1, stay for the Speedway"

Amherst Set 1 was simply as good as this band can be. No questionable calls and everything played at the familiar snappy tempo. I won't even name a tune because there was not one break from attentive and energetic playing during the whole set. This band has developed a knack for shifting from Jeff's solo's to John's in a way that revs up the whole set...see the Jack Straw from 2/8.

After the set 1 home run, we were primed for a mellow follow-up, and Set 2 was no surprise. Sailor was played well enough, but an ominous tone-setter for me.

The Speedway was perhaps the jewel of the whole show. Smooth and bluesy throughout - it was a confident, controlled rendition that simply let the tune's natural rhythm do the work. The music played the band.

For me, much of the jamming from the middle of Marbles (an electric tune, when they're on) to the NFA intro was soupy - it groped for direction. I do recall one great bit of John's Cumberland blues-type licks in the middle of Caution, but outside of that, it was a shrug of the shoulders.

Even the welcome NFA refrain was followed by just one or two measures of jammin, which yielded to the call-and-answer chorus. Why not take the opportunity to blow the house down?

All in all, a very, very good show - just short of great. I imagine they're saving those for Radio City...Charlie needs to rest up for next week.

Uncle Charlie Chan, NY, NY
OK, I'm not seeing it on the setlists, but I KNOW they played Slipknot last night - someone validate me PLEASE - I was sober, so I'm sure I didn't imagine it :)

Great venue Selection, The staff at The Mullins Center were very kind to our section.Loved The town the same. Its my first show of The winter Tour, and it was a Great one! I LOVED DARKSTAR! Loved the way they shared vocals. ..I dont know what song it was but Bobby was singin "All I Need!..that was a cool song.what song was that?
see Ya in The City Tueday!

Robert Zeleznik, Bridgeport, CT
KILLER show. No doubt. The Caution was a great surprise for me. The NSB was just exactly perfect. I knew we were in for crazy night when NFA was the opener. I thought I heard a little Slip tease during KSM. So glad we made the trip. There was a cool vibe in the lot, nice Shakedown happening despite the cold wind.
Thanks guys for a real good time!!!!!

KevinNY, just north of the Knick
Rosa- perhpas you are confusing Slipknot! with the song King Solomon's Marbles, also from the Blues for Allah Recording.

Great show, relaxed area, and nice sunny days.

Jack Straw, San Francisco, CA
Hey now Rosa! That "all I need" song is "Caution..." And Bobby def had his mojo working!

Kevinny, just north of the Knick
Hey Rosa jack straw had it right, it was king solomons marbles, which by the way was played impecably well, JK nailing the Jerry licks and the rest of the band keeping a tight crazy pace ALL IS WELL IN DEAD LAND,went to nh and amherst seems like the boys are really gathering a head of steam on this tour, both shows being full of energy and dead spirit what could be better!!!!!!!!!!!!! roll on radio city

Weir to Begin...
IN after Ole Yella absconded my TIX.... wrist band instead .. "Oh, U can get after show" More on that later...
Made way down on rail beside my Ratdog, Dead tour neighbours Lynne & AZ. Bobby,JK & Further II's weir just above us. This tour the band has there own individual tour buses & 10X10 black privacy tents on stage wings... Nice of Jill & Phil to share with us the proverbial
" well i am off to work honey smooch's " ;0)
Bobby started us off out of sight(tent) with his Cut Hollow Body Gibson a few strums & the band took stage.
NFA first song was smokin' great vibe around us & on stage. Phil's " looks like the old mans getting old" BEW lyric got a great response from crowd.
Bobby's voice was very strong he played well & as usual kept all onstage aware of changes & waving his arm up in air to play around one more time.. Joe up on drums singing along & making the back beat seem effortless while chomping on a tooth pick .. Jay jumping around playing his cymbals & different drums saw him playing something with a Bow?? He & Joe weir having some fun. JK was quite animated & layin it down real well. Jeff was spanking the Ivories as well as ever. Furthur II's were right on time & sounded awesome... Casey Jones & into set break singing Drivin That Train.. High On Cocaine.. very exciting 1st set....
Nice set break with great neighbours to hang out with & do whatever. Before you knew it lights dimmed & weir off...
start us out with some Psychedelic late 60ish Grateful Dead -Quicksilverish sound into Sailor Saint... OOOh Weirs The Moon.. Bobby put his soul into singing this man... Driftin & Dreamin YAhhh.. Lotta Old Tyme GD songs tonight. A mighty fine Dark Star... may I suggest getting the Mateus Bottle out of storage.. relight the candle .. couple tokes & turn the lights down low & enjoy the ride man... This show is STELLA... ... So there I was driving south on 91 near Northampton after the show and there was a sign that said
CAUTION
CAUTION
CAUTION
I started laughing hysterically.

Great show. I danced all night. We even got the woman who was the usher for the tunnel I was in dancing.

Mike, Chicopee
great show. lots of fun. the set list was great and played very well. the ksm's was excellent, so was the cassidy and let it grow.

roc, saratoga springs
What a great show. Rivals Hampton. Obviously, its all about the second set exploration.

The first set starts out fun with NFA. I love JK doing Althea. The set cools down until a smokin' Cassidy and Casey Jones.

The second opens with a great sailor>saint that is better than charlotte. The Speedway is on par with Farifax. KSM>NFA is great. I think the Dark Star form Hampton was hotter after the first verse, but still nice to hear.

Updated Rankings:
1) Hampton
2) U Mass
3) Farifax
4) Manchester
5) Atlanta
6) Miami
7) Orlando
8) Buffalo
9) Cornell
10) Asheville
11) Bethlehem, PA
12) Charlotte

A great high energy show. unfortunately due to technical glitches, [mostly bobby] his feedback killed me in the second set. including missing his cue in darkstar held back this show from being a truely great one. Back in the day bobby would have a major screw up every few shows, now its a few times every show. When everyone else is on and he's making a mess out of things it sucks. Casey jones rocked!

jeff, w. hartford
HooterAll, dude, nicely said. I'm going to steal all of it, the new and already borrowed, and turn it into a hit. Before Umphrey's does. Waxxing freaking poetic friend.

The vibe was great inside my fiance and i were about 10 rows of folks up front right of center and NFA to start made me think we were in for a very special night. first set highlights was a killer Cassidy and very fine casey jones set closer. the first set flew by at hyperspeed. second set was simply perfect, Lost sailor>Saint was easily one of the best ever including killer versions i've heard from the GD. a perfect mood setting couple and lost sailor beginning is very spacey and atmospheric. during the very beginning of caution i could see Phil give bob a terrible look of "what the fuck are you doing?" then bob finally made up his mind to approach the mic and get it started but the rest of caution was killer with some really weird lyrics from Bob! I can die a happy head after that amazingly beautiful 20 min DARKSTAR with all kinds of creativity from phil and especially JK!! amazing stuff from john all night long. Bob's many guitar choices is very cool and his playing is WAY UNDERRATED and i don't beleive he's ever been as commanding at the mic...give the guy a break people! bob weir has always been a HUGE part of the unique sound of the GD. Otherone slams after DS...what more could a head ask for late in the second set?? Darkstar>Otherone>Let it grow!!! come on, if that doesn't get you off man, find a pulse!
