no beer! the weather was cold rain, the venue was tough (no booze, tight security), and everyone seemed a little beat down. But the band was terrific. Even the songs i don't prefer (alabama, peter), fake Jerry picked me up with some rippin' guitar. And i liked the funky Maggies Farm, too. I had fun, despite the venue.

I thought the show was real solid start to finish!! HCS dried us all off on a rainy night to start the night. Then we got back to back Bobby with Miracle and a real nice Estimated. Candyman was real sweet, JK handles the ballads just beautifully. Maggies never really got going but they made up for it with a scorching hot Alabama, Phil was killin' it and Bobby and JK just keep coming. Definitely the highlight of the first set IMO. Bobby did a real nice job on the Black Peter and the Cosmic was a great close to a solid first set.
They started right where they left off with an awesome Golden Road, Jack Straw, Cold Rain and Snow trifecta!! Peaceful Valley was nice although it seemed like they weren't all on the same page for that one, but it did flow nicely into a hot Sugaree. Revolution was solid, not bad, but nothing to write home about, then came a sweet Terrapin that was right on time!! Throwing to end the set was solid, but I felt it was an odd way to end the set, enjoyed it never the less. Obiviously, its hard to go wrong with a double encore that includes Tom Thump and Ripple.
Solid show!! These guys are really having a lot of fun, you can feel it in their playing. I was second row in front of Phil and we was having a ball all night long!!! Can't wait til Saturday in AC!!!!!!!!!!

Great show at the Bob last night! Here Comes Sunshine really kicked off the night in fine style, especially after walking a good distance in the rain to get in. Band was tight and the sound was outstanding. Highlights for me were the Sunshine, Maggie's Farm, a rippin' Alabama Getaway that seemed like it was going to close the first set, only to be followed by two more tunes. Then Golden Road kicked off the second set and totally rocked! Also dug the Terrapin / Throwing Stones ending and my favorite Dylan cover of all, the first Tom Thumb's Blues of this tour for an encore. The Ripple after that was great too. Many other highlights too...one low for me was the first half of Black Peter. A great song that Bobby should let John sing instead. Overall an outstanding show and worth every minute!

overall, thw show ha its moments although the second set was a lot like a first set and did not have any spacy jams that meandered into the depths of bobbys vast mind. more jammy, rock n roll type stuff, predicatable jams, but fun.

The obvious Further strategy to expand their universe all the while protecting the core works really well! Phil/Bob (Jill?) realize they have lost much of their younger audience, and have put together a well thought out business plan w the right players, songbook, and venues to recapture. Leave the space/drums and the deepest improv jamming out. For every aficionado who revels, there 5 fringe fans it turns off. Go to a show and invite a few of those fringe fans like I'm doing Sat in AC! They will thank you for it and get back this summer on their own. Sharing Further is a worthwhile gesture!!

And one other thing that needs to be researched. Is there any other state that neither Phil or Bobby have never played during their 45 years? Is it possible they saved the first State for last?

Nice setlist, nice performance start to finish. Cool little Phil & Friends type noodling to start, leading into HCS and then the ball started rolling. Midway in had a ripping Alabama Getaway, curious Black Peter followed, but with a Cosmic Charlie to follow that, who are we to question song choices?
Golden Road was great leadoff to a very nice, tight 2nd set, nice long loopy Sugaree into Revolution in to Terrapin worked really well and with Ripple finish, nothing left to do but smile, smile, smile. It was nice hearing the more rock & roll side, no real need for this band to get into the deep space end of things. Thanks guys (and girls)
BTW, how cool was it that one of Jerry's daughters was singing backup?

The boys (& gals) sounded fantastic! Alabama ripped the joint 1st set - Cold Rain & Snow, Sugaree, Jack Straw, Terrapin in 2nd...what a show. CD burned at the show sounds great, too.

Phantastic Show from the top to the last "ripple". The inter-play bewtween Bobby and Phil on Jack Straw kicked ass. John reminds me of a young Garcia. It'd was wet ouside the "BOB" and steamin' inside!

Sorry for the non-review my good peoples, but I will be hopping on the bus tomorrow. For a 7:30 show, what time do the boys actually start?
Thanks. Peace. Love. Dry shoes.

I saw Bobby play with Ratdog at Kahunaville in Wilmington, DE and at the Bottle 'n' Cork in Dewey Beach. I believe this was Phil's first time playing in DE, and he was the one the News Journal interview was with... so the statement was correct for Phil, but not Bobby. It was Bob's first time at the Bob, and let's hope not the last!

Showtime 7:30, start 7:45, intermission 9:00, 2nd set start 9:45, end 11:15ish. Was thrilled with the setlist. Highlights for me...HCS, Alabama, Lady>Terrapin>Stones. A rocker to close would have topped the night. I hope they make their way back around real soon.

Thanks A. West for the show time info. And, if this is thee Adam West, best of luck with the Riddler...
