Unfortunatley I left after set one. My iphone registered the temp on the floor at 122 degrees! Even in the hallway it was well over 105. No fans, no AC, no air circulation. How could they! And then a 10 minute wait for a bottle of water.

Didn't go to this show (highly unlikely after 3-4 days in Maine), but what can I say? The second set is what I would have liked to have seen on the 4th, especially "Time", which I guess is the song I'll be chasing from now on (hopefully at Time(s) Square?). China Doll was a song I chased in the late 80s before catching an otherworldly version at Alpine '89, so I would have loved to hear it as a set opener. As in Coney, they split up Scarlet/Fire again - painful if you're there, but I guess they're trying to keep it fresh - might be better to do a sandwich like they did with China/Rider in Lowell. The rest of the set looks great, down to the Box of Rain encore, which judging from Nick's post, is what the place would have needed literally. After 3 days of hiding from the sun in Maine, there's no way we could have endured 105 or 122 (!!!) temperatures. I can only imagine it was really bad to leave in the middle of the show!

Can't wait to listen to the show, because I think it was stellar, but the oppressive heat made it difficult to really let loose and enjoy. IMHO the venue was way over sold. There were people in every inch of that place.
Matt, Milford
This was probably the hottest indoor "event" I was ever at. They did open the side doors eventually which created a cross ventilation but there was still dead air (pun intended).
Anyway, they played EXTREMELY well in my opinion. John did china doll justice, it was amazing. I remember the other one, thinking to myself as it was playing: "Phil was making bombing runs over Bobby's land mines" Phil was really rippin on that one. Very awesome considering we were smack in the Phil zone.
Death don't have no mercy may have been a highlight in many aspects. Bobby would have lost his voice a few years back singing how he did on that one. Very nice...
Colors of the rain was great live. So happy I heard that and I would've loved to finally hear lazy > supplication, but hell, I am well beyond satisfied.
As noted by everyone, the venue was so hot (fire on the mountain was so perfect!) that I believe a handful of people left either at set break or before which sucks but it made it all that more intimate being it was such a small place to begin with...
It should be noted as well that security was great. They would hit balloons back and were smiling etc. They just did their job and that's all that is expected. No roid freaks to ruin a good time.
Go see these guys! Awesome!
-What was up with the people on the side balcony! They were having way too much fun!

I have heard there has been some low attendance shows...why do these guys not come to the midwest? One show in Ohio...thats it.
CG, Wisconsin
I wanted a hot show and they don't get any hotter! They came out smoken and never let up. When the other one is the slowest jam of the night you know your in a GOOD PLACE. That was freaken awesome, I danced so hard I was out of sweat to sweat! THANK YOU FURTHUR! I kept saying to my self that we are so lucky to be able to still do this in 2010! John K. you are channeling dude! Bob And Phil thank you for loving what you do so much that you will put out that amount of energy in such a HOT room! Russo you are a machine! Jeff you are a wild animal!
I feel like Santa came last night.

i'm very interested to hear this. mostly repeats but killer reviews - like my lowell with the first repeats but another mastered show.
CG - well the Columbus crowd was lame and disrespectful - what do you expect? their first money-making base as GD was in the NE, so it makes sense. They'll expand next tour - larger venues as well. This Ottawa Show should be awesome and bluesy!

Hey Phil...I agree with everything you said and I love east coast shows and the GD always stepped it up at MSG. I just think they could tap into some packed venues in the midwest. I wonder if the east coast folk may get bored and even skip shows because there are so many.

Smokin' hot show - both literally and figuratively!! This is by far the best band line-up since '95 - miss ya Jerry. No offense to Ratdog or Warren Haynes, but these guys have something special happening !!! Jeff Chimenti is amazing and J.K. fits right in like a glove !!! The line outside after the show to get the cd was crazy - but went quick once they came off the presses.
Jesse - I was in that side balcony ( also my 1st sober show ever ) and let me tell you bro - we were just groovin' -you could feel Phil's bass shakin' the floor joists, Chimenti was like 6' away - amazing to look out over the crowd from the band's perspective - definetly my favorite post-Jerry show so far !!!!!!!!!

Yes it was hot. Yes it was close quarters. But anyone that endured the lows were rewarded with incredible highs. From beginning to end, it was a tight, energetic, & mind blowing show. I stood about 10ft. back, dead center. Danced all night. Not much more to say.

Was hoping for a 'lil 5th of July - US Blues!
Jesse, we were in the balcony...and I think the mix of Indian Sweat Lodge and the show made for a transcendental hallucinatory experience. It had to be well into the 120's up there, maybe hotter. We did have one hell of a good time up there. ;)

The band was even hotter than the Venue ... The Music Never Stopped was on fire! As was most of the night. Can't wait to hear the Soundboard CD's.
Dave, Old Forge, PA.
besides the best setlist ever, by far the most smokin further show of the tour, and this was my 5th. The intensity level was off the chart, esp the death don't have no mercy, bobby singin his butt off, and the Rider kept going to its peak, the place goin freekin nuts in this tiny venue, the chinadoll fire was magnificent, the TIME awesome, the other one cooked, just so well played, how could it be their 4th straight night playing. Phil is an iron man, he sung unbroken chain with total heart, and his new first set song was gorgeous. love it

I'll admit I miss Ratdog, and I am sorry most of those guys are out of a great job, but I must also admit these guys have grown a lot in a short amount of time. I saw them at Stabler Arena in I guess Feb 2010, and they were real good, and then last week at Penns Peak and they were Great, But OH MY GOD! AMAZING,JUST AMAZING 6 DAYS later. The night was mind blowing from start to finish. I mean THE ELEVEN and THE OTHER ONE, DEATH DON'T HAVE NO MERCY, and FLOYD'S TIME in one show. Not to mention a FIRE /SCARLET not played together! Again, just AMAZING. Anyway, having said all that, I still miss Kenny, Robin, Mark, and Jay. I had many wonderful years, and experiences with you Guys. I hope at some point to see us all together again.

I must note that you guys were so fun to watch! You guys could not lie about having a good time. Was such a good show indeed. Hope to see you all again sometime!

2nd set was a monster! China Doll, Death Don't, The Chain! Are you kidding me? Amazing set list. It was hot as hell inside that building but who cares! Great time.
Michael Deusinger, Stroudsburg, PA
Hey now! How are the new songs sounding? There are at least 2 right? Or is Colors of the Rain a PL&F song?
The set lists for the summer tour have been unreal. Can't wait for them to hit my neck of the woods soon.

The soundboard is an awesome recording that confirms what I heard at the venue-- the band outperformed all the Furthur shows I had seen [four so far and tonight is next]. This band is truly playing with Jerry's approval and they finally topped the Atlantic City show 2.27.10, which my wife and I thought previously might not be possible.
This was quintessentially Dead live in the blazing heat of a packed small theater, or as Phil noted afterwards, "nothing like a sweatbox show" to make it REALLY rock !

I LOVE the Sherman theater. It is so intimate and the acoustics are just amazing - I have seen both Ratdog and Dark Star here a number of times and was so incredibly psyched to get tickets for this when it was announced! I walked into the theater just as I heard "...As I was walkin' down Grosvenor Square..." and I RAN to the front and never stopped dancing since! Everyone in the room was on the same vibe that night and I agree that Security was awesome... they seemed to really get it... I just grinned allll night :-D I never saw Jerry but my BF who did said this was his favorite show EVER - counting the Good Ol' Grateful days... and I feel so lucky and blessed to have been there. Went to Philly on the 10th and was somewhat disappointed, but after a hot show like the Sherman, it's more than understandable. I love these intimate settings. God Bless the Grateful Dead!!! xoxoxoxoxo

July 5th was my birthday and I had tickets for the Vermont show. It was supposed to be a day trip with my wife. Oh the folly we call life! Glad to hear the show was hot. The live recording sounds real nice. I think I will buy the board. Was in Ottawa a few nights later. 'I fought the law and the law one" sums it up. I am ashamed to be a canadian sometimes. Shit happens. Health and happiness to all.
