Hmmmm...personally thought show was a bit disjointed. Song selection fine, musical substance ok, but flow was just off to me. Love Chimmy though, always! Can't get enough of that hammond sound. John though, can't make up my mind. Maybe he sings too much like Jerry, but without the soul in his playing. It's just weird to me still.
IMHO, if Furthur is playing this festival to gain a new audience, the tempos need to stay up to keep the interest. Was a very young crowd there this year. Lots around me just seemed bored after Estimated, although RR Blues was peppy. Noone much knew the words to anything. Except one specific drunk who was more than into the Terrapin, lol. And it's not like I was back up on the hill - tend to hang by the soundboard or forward.
Great to hear a Brent tune again. And glad to get some new tunes finally - they have promise, interesting. Nice LLR from Bobby, and normally love Sugar Mag but let's say this one left a lot to be desired, lol. Double encore always nice, Cumberland brought tempo back up, the "harmonies' made me laugh. In a fond way mind you. :) And Ripple was nice finale with the fireworks backdrop.
B/B- overall. Suppose I'll go to Red Rocks. Wanna be with a more "for the faithful" crowd. And the band always did well there.

sooo much negative energy. You don't understand that the songs you're complaining about were once a tour songs and some of us chased them down. Especially speaking of LLR - one of my parents' favorites (who were there). Roses was even upbeat because they knew the lame crowd would complain. Just a Little Light!! sure it's a new song (for them)but wow! Can't wait to see another Brent song for sure. Disjointed?? have you not seen the amazing sets they are writing?? They showed DSO how S-F is being played now - and it's downright beautiful. First they broke it up for me, the gave me the combo - they're geniuses. The sandwiches and variation is multi-leveled man. Are you following along or just stopping in??? "B/B-" - good joke

i agree with phil... they are geniuses... they didnt need to play an upbeat set to get anyone's attention!!! Almost every set at allgood was upbeat and jammin, the boys slowed it down and brought it down and then jammed it down!!! There isnt a single band in the world who could play the LLR and so many roads> colors of the rain that they unleashed with pure emotion and soul!!! ill take that over bassnectar any second of any day!!!

Guys, not a newbie here. First saw the Grateful Dead in 1984. Attended 100+ GD shows alone, not counting side projects. I am giving my opinion. Wasn't a stellar show to me, although I enjoyed pieces. Kadelik just hasn't won me over yet. Favorite Furthur show I personally attended so far was 3/6 in CO. That 2nd set flowed. This one was disjointed. Glad you loved it. Carry on.

This was my 6th furthur show and the previous 5 were all incredible, but this one, in my own personal opionion wasn't very strong. That's ok though, I'll take 5 out 6 shows being incredible, they are human and they're bound to have an off night. I agree with Kent about the flow being off. The transitions were awkard and the band's chemistry seemed off as well. Maybe this was because of the vibe from the crowd. Looking around at the crowd while furthr was playing, most people looked like they were waiting for the next band to come on. It was a young crowd and they probably would have been more into the music if it was more up tempo (they did get up and ance for scarlet fire, which maybe not coincedently was uptempo). I was really surprised to to hear 2 slow ones in a row - must of been the roses followed by looks like rain, there were people literally sleeping on the ground around me.
The show did have some good moments for me though - scarlet fire was great, after midnight was nice, john's voice sounded great on this one, attics was pretty. I think there must have been a goof on the timing of the fireworks though because they started going off at the beginning of ripple and the sound from the fireworks was so loud you couldn't hear the band for the 1st couple minutes.
Again I agree with Kent, looking forward to seeing the shows in september with more concentration of the 'faithful' crowd. I love that they're still playing the songs we love. Thank you, thank you....as long as you guys keep playing, I'll keep coming!

Only my second Furthur show so far, thought it was incredible- it was surely a slower show (I saw them earlier this year in Atlantic City and it was much more upbeat) but it didn't bother me at all- ain't nothin wrong with a slow show, especially when it was as beautiful as this. Estimated was a definite highlight, and LLR was gorgeous (though its never been my favorite)...
sugar mags felt a bit off, but in the second set I LOVED colors of the rain (hadn't heard it yet) and i thought the Terrapin was perfect. All in all, loved the show.
I do agree that the crowd was not as littered with people as into it as I was- not much of a dead crowd, maybe- but the people who were loving it were definitely loving it :-)

i thought the show was definatly off a little bit. but mostly due to the fact that bassnecter played right after them and all the douchey "bros" were out there waiting...especially the crew of 20 that came up behind me and my love started rubbing each other and pissed on our blanket and basically told us to move during so many roads....that was very uncalled for..but other than that ripple was amazing and being there with them on that mountain was wonderful even if they were a little off... cant be on your a-game all the time!
