Told you so. Don't smoke it, soak it. Get on tour or regret it.

Great show! The opener of New Minglewood, "I'm a wanted man in Texas" created a "Texas bar feel". My friend, Mary and I were down on the floor towards the front and it felt like we were in some saloon in Texas (Austin) again. Highlights were Sugaree (Jeff ripped it up), C.C. Rider and "Women are Smarter"... The show seemed to have a let's "tip the hat" to the girls flavor to it.
Loved the 2nd Set's Scarlet Begonias-Fire, and Estimated Prophet..."Rising up to Paradise!" Bobby's yells were fun to try and emulate. Noticed other people in the audience trying to yell along with him.
"Eyes of the World" was great but I missed Kenny's sax sound during the jam which I love dearly. Ratdog's version is hot.
The Wheel into Not Fade Away was sensational and I couldn't help but reminisce about a road trip along the Blue River, Co during Wheel. What a song!
Wharf Rat was "deep", soulful, and I loved Sugar Magnolia towards the end of the show.
Thanks again to the band..Happy Trails to you! We'll miss you!

P.S. Revolution encore was timely! "You say you want a revolution well you know....we all want to change the world." How could I forget to mention this?
Speaking of women are smarter....I guess the revolution in Egypt was initiated by a woman (she's apparently a teacher), a few students, and the internet. The evening news briefly interviewed her in this small office and she remarked how she couldn't believe how the movement evolved. This vision seemed to be a dream of a better life for all, peaceful in it's origin. How interesting that this event has "rippled" into Iran.
"Full of hope, full of grace is the human race!" May we all see peace on this "shining ball of blue" someday.

What was the scene in the parking lot all about? Cops on Shakedown with dogs making arrests? I've never seen this in Colorado before. And inside, I had security take my buds on the floor while they plowed through with alcohol selling it to anybody who had the cash. WTF? PLEASE, DON'T COME BACK TO THIS VENUE. There are a lot of cool places here. This place dosn't deserve to have us.
Other than that, had a great time. I did my touring in the eighties and nineties, so this was the closest thing to a real Deadshow that I've seen, even though I got ripped off for doses in the parking lot and was sober as a judge for the entire show. "Sometimes you get shown the light..."
Does anyone know what Phil was talking about when he mentioned "that strange vibe in Colorado"? Anyway, see you next time, hopefully not at this venue. Peace and love!

Notfadeaway - that's too bad man. I admit that Sunday there seemed to be a bigger police presence although I did not see anyone getting busted. Inside, hell we smoked joint after joint right in front of security with no issues what-so-ever for 3 straight days. So not sure how you could have possibly got your buds taken away. The 1st Bank Center is an awesome venue, where else would they play indoors? Pepsi Center is way too big, the Ogden and Bluebird are way too small, as well as the Fillmore, which that place truely does suck. That leaves the Budweiser Event Center would be really the only other possibility.

That's true. I've been spoiled with Red Rocks. The Budweiser Event Center is a great idea. I'd like to see them give it a shot.

Yep we all have been spoiled with Red Rocks! ;) I'd be up for the BEC, it's only 25 min from my house! Widespread Panic played there in '07 and I really enjoyed that place. But I doubt Loveland cops are any better than Broomfield cops..

1st Bank Center seems to work for the size of this crowd when the "chilly winds blow" and the weather is cold. It's also convenient since it's easy for Denver people and "Boulderites". It's only 15 minutes from my home! I agree with Denver Man...the Pepsi Center is too big and Ogden, Bluebird, and Paramount are too small. The Budweiser Event Center is alot like the 1st Bank Center only farther north...It seemed like the 1st Bank Center was very accomodating to the crowd.
I am partial to the outside venues...love the summer festival "feel" of ouside shows. Saw Ratdog at Mishawaka up Poudre Canyon years ago which was great. (Nice outside venue with the river rushing by).
I also like the outside venue in Lyons (Rocky Mtn Folk Festival), and the Botanic Gardens, which has a nice picnic feel (but show has to stop by 10 pm-bummer). Those venues are too small and won't work for the Further crowd. (I do however like the smaller intimate shows).
Red Rocks is our Colorado jewel and we love the band coming there! Looking forward to summer. It's been quite a winter.

Maggie - I've been bummed for years for missing Ratdog at the Mish! I saw DSO there once, man what a place!! Also I like how you felt like you were in a TX bar during Minglewood. Any time a band can make you feel like you are in a different place or a different time, they have done their job. The Broomfield shows made feel like I was all over the place :) Plus they pulled out songs I have been dying to hear Furthur play. For me the first set Friday was a wish list come true, those cowboy songs get me every time!! Until next time! Take care!

Denver Man,
After talking to some people, I found out that there was a problem during the run of Phish shows last month. From what I heard, someone cracked a tank in one of the hotels which prompted a police raid and the police presence. Understandable. I just hate seeing people being needlessly arrested. I'd most likely go back to the venue, but I'd be paranoid as hell. You all are right. There's really no where else that can accomodate not only the crowd but the vending scene as well. It's too bad the acts of a few irresponsible people take such a toll on everyone.
