Set1-
Music Never Stopped-Oh Yeah!
Bertha-Listen to JK sing on this!
Cumberland Blues - tearing it up!!! Near meltdown.
Nice division of vocals on Cumberland.
It says into B.E. Women but it seems like they stopped playing, anyhow.
I have written about B.E. Woman at Simpsonville, They just have this tune down and when Phil sings,
" looks like the old man is getting on" Wow I just lose it. POWERFUL!
I like how J.K. sings, "I cut HICKO---RY"
J.K. has some nice solo work in here.
-->Brown Eyed Women
What a great start to this set. The audience tape is picking up people just loving the tune selection.
Peggy-O- a real upbeat version of peggy-o
I like phil singing this! This was a kinda sad tune towards the end of things in the 90's. It is so much more upbeat hear. Phil is just bouncing with his bass and vocals!
Keyboard work has been masterful entire set.
Magnolia Mountain-The mellowing song of the set. A lot of room at the back side of this tune for this free form jam and yes this does go straight into Jack Straw very kindly.
Might have surprised a few heads with that transition.
-->Jack Straw-Phil singing on Jack Straw! Now how is that for way cool. and of course BobWeir steady as ever!
"Ain't no bed can give us rest now, you keep us on the run"
great ending jam for a 11 + minute Jack Straw!
New Speedway Boogie-Weir on the vocals, oh it has a real sing along bluesy quality. Wow they could easily bring this into a Smokestack Lightning if they was so inclined.
Very solid blues jam "Very few rules to guide"
"This darkness got to give"-very hopeful!
Set summary = A+

Wanted to hear CDs before review, and they did justice to how good I thought they were on these 2 nights at the Greek!! Music never stop is just a fantastic opener, great choice for a 2 night run at the Greek!! Bertha was a great following song and cumberland just had the place roaring like we were already in the 2nd set, BE Woman and Peggy O were down really well and thank god they played Magnolia Mtn so we could catch our breath, not for long though as they surged into a wonderful rendition of a great opener called Jack of freakin Straw, they just killed this song as well as the Speedway Boogie that followed, I could have gone home happy with just a 1st set it was that hot!! Toasty Rosty and I both wanted a Lost/Saint and Crazy fingers and well did they deliver or what, played very well and just hittin all the right notes thoughout this 3 song start to a great 2nd set!! Bathroom window just caught everyone by surprise, even though they seem to be doing at least 1 Beatle song a night, into Eyes of Furthur and JK really spanked this version and then the whole group just nailed it on the full rendition of the Terrapin suite, 1st time I heard this was at Coney island and it just made me realize that this band just keeps getting better!!Days Betwen which normally is a rest song for me, was done superbly and Bobby was just smiling throughout as only Weir can!!!Goin Down the road was just one big Dance and Sing along!!! Johnny B as we were walking out to avoid that wonderful traffic that the greek is famous for!!! Was totally satisfied and Geeked for another night at the Greek!!!

Caught eight shows on this tour. This night in LA was something special. Rock solid from begining to end. The fun part of this show was at the end of the jam out of Terrapin Flyer. Days Between starts to knock on the door and Phil puts his bass down, kinda waves to the guys and then leaves the stage. I'm pretty sure he had to take a leak! Bobby is lookin over like WTF!. We got a tight curfew here pal. At this point Bobby says hell with it lets do this. Phil returns and they finish off an EPIC evening. This venue has a strict 11:00pm curfew. At this point it is 10:58. We still need a donor rap and an encore! This is one of those venues that if you don't play your cards right you run out of time. I'm thinkin maybe no encore tonight. Wrong! They pulled it off. A quick donor rap and a few verses of Johnny B Good. As they were exiting the stage I looked at my phone and it was 11:00pm staight up! An EPIC evening of music performed by true professionals. It doesn't get any better than this night!
