They were on! Bobby &Phil looked like they were havin a blast, as was the rest of the gang. Foolish opener & we knew it would be an amazing show. First set highlights were Looks Like Rain &Sittin set closer. TLEO stood out as well - JGB vibes.
2nd set was just about perfect except Bob's feedback before Scarlet. Golden duo with a great segue to Scarlet. Always love Colors of the Rain, especially in the same show as LLR. Lost>Saint in the ballad slot was quite a treat &well executed. New Potato is one of my favorites, this one was coupled with a sweet space into the Suite. Sunday sermon to send us out.
Thanks to Jeff for the heads up on 2ndmang row. Wonderful to meet Tim, Deidre &Pete from NY. Thank you for a real good time indeed Furthur. On to VA.

Agreed! There was utter magic in the air. Is it going too far to say that when they are on, Furthur rivals the Grateful Dead for sheer inventiveness, ethereal flights of fancy and eclectic song selections, if perhaps not the Dead's firepower?
Furthur out-Beatled the Beatles on Golden Slumbers, and then into Golden Road; a sparkling, shimmering rendition. Also representing the Dead's debut, Sittin' and Schoolgirl were beautifully recreated. As previously mentioned, Scarlet and Colors were a brilliant pastiche. And the scene! As a middle-aged grad of UMass, it was gratifying to see so many of the young un's into the Dead's grateful legacy. John Kadlecik does a superb job of occupying Jerry's space without trying to be Jerry, and Bobby and Phil seem ageless in their performing roles. Furthur onward!
