Reviews
The Muslims have Mecca
The Jews have Jerusalem
The Catholics have Rome
and we Heads have New Years Eve at the Bill's S.F. Civic!
There is much good music here
and if you were not there (like me)
or you did not have XM access(night job-like me)
there is already a fine recording up on archive.org
(audience recording beware headphones-for balloon drop)
this three set New Year's not only has the tunes but also the extra effort with some very creative jams.
It was a rockin first set from the Golden Road, Cosmic Charlie to the Shakedown>Viola Lee
Second set is going places with a Morning Dew opener
Especially liked the intro into the Dark Star and the free form SPACE getting back to the Star's second verse.
High on a Mtn is so Phil mellow and Bob involved vocally.
Also how kind is Stephen>Fire to close set two and does not FIRE speak to the coming year of the Dragon!
on the encore;
I remember talking to the late David Nolan about Terrapin in the encore slot after the Grateful Dead did a Nassau Coliseum Terrapin encore and what a rarity that was.
Had to refer to the hard copy of Deadbase back then but Deadbase online says
